A Gorgeous House on the Shore of Petit-Lac-Magog
This gorgeous house was designed by AKB Design, built on the shore of Petit-Lac-Magog in the Rock-Forest region of Quebec. Nestled on the shores of Petit-Lac-Magog, this project is described by the firm as “un projet coup de cœur”—a labor of love that’s been tailored from top to bottom for its owners.
The design aims to strike a balance between elegance, warmth, and seamless integration with its natural surroundings. Every detail—from the layout of the spaces to the choice of finishing pieces—has been considered to enhance both comfort and visual harmony.
One of the most striking features is the large covered terrace, furnished with comfortable seating, lanterns, and surfaces that invite outdoor living. It offers a dream-like setting, especially by the water’s edge. The exterior is clad in cedar, lending a warm, natural texture that corresponds beautifully with the lakeshore environment. The cedar’s soft tones, together with the lantern lighting and thoughtful outdoor furnishings, evoke a relaxed but refined lakeside ambiance.
Inside, the general design approach seems to favor open, elegant layout with warm materials, coherence between indoor and outdoor spaces, and an emphasis on cozy yet sophisticated living. The décor and finishes support that goal, reinforcing the house’s role as both a retreat and a refined dwelling, meant for enjoyment of lake views, peaceful surroundings, and gracious entertaining.
