This gorgeous colonial beach house in Swapscott, Massachusetts is literally on the edge of a rocky cliff, and the ocean views are endless. SV Designs, decided to design a house that wasn’t a traditional coastal home, and to achieve this, they created a bright and airy interior. They started by adding more windows to bring in extra light, and to balance the moody ocean blues they added warm furnishing and pops of color to the interior.
About twenty years later, Wyman Richardson wrote a third classic of Cape Cod literature, The House on Nauset Marsh, that helped propel the character of the area to almost mythical status. Such wide recognition of a special place within a special region helps us understand why a desire to build and live here today remains one of the most deeply held convictions of those who love the eastern shore of Cape Cod.

This beach house is located in Newport Beach in California. The designers of this house is Blackband Design, led by owners Greg and Wendy Blackband, and are known for their fresh, sophisticated and unpretentious style. Specializing in combining traditional pieces with more current elements, they create environments that are polished and inviting with a splash of eclectic. With a focus on quality and value, the Blackband Design team prides itself on exceptional customer service and a personalized approach for every client. I call this house sick because it has everything you could imagine on your dream house checklist. Starting with the gorgeous views of the Pacific ocean, an amazing outside living area with a dream pool and grilling area, a personal massage room, a private work-out room, and my favorite is the marble built in dog bowls...seriously so epic....this is a beach pretty sick house.
This funky charming cottage on Martha's Vineyard, was featured in Country Living magazine. I am sure it has stolen your heart, as it did mine. Bright white walls, slip-covered furniture, vintage flea market finds, antiques and new furniture, and a mix of colorful quilts and linens give this cottage a happy feel, someplace you dream about all winter long..and it is just a skip and hop to the beach. A five-bedroom Ocean Ridge home that served as the backdrop for country music artist Jenny Tolman’s music video “Something to Complain About." The 13,500-square-foot home boasts white oak wood and limestone tile floors, a smart home system, and a chef’s kitchen that featured heavily in the music video. The interior opens up to the ocean and an outdoor space with a heated pool, spa, summer kitchen, and cabana bathroom. Ocean Ridge Florida is the hidden emerald of the Gold Coast—just a short drive to downtown excitement, south to Delray Beach or north to West Palm Beach...so beach pretty!
I am seriously gushing over this Coastal Retreat in Jamestown, Rhode Island. As you arrive, the house sits far down a winding driveway, sea grass that lines the driveway, is swaying in the beautiful ocean breeze. This house is designed by DiMauro Architects, has every lovely detail a coastal retreat requires to be a restful sanctuary. My favorite details in a beach house are windows with pretty details, a lovely nook with the sun shining on me, where I can spend an hour reading, an open kitchen with so much natural light shining in and the who doesn't want an amazing stone fireplace to cook pizza? ... A beautiful and a definite luxurious splurge, but my favorite place in this beach house is in the backyard, the terrace sits high above the water, I would sit out there with a refreshing cocktail, a seabreeze would be perfect, I would day dream while I watched the the white sailboats dance in wind. This backyard is simply stunning, every detail from the grey slate terrace, the outdoor bar, beautiful pool, rambling stone walls showcasing the vivid colorful and glorious wild flowers, which was designed by landscape designer, Atlantic Lawn and Garden. The amazing photographs were captured by Warren Jagger.
