A charming Nantucket cottage is postcard pretty, a white gravel driveway brings you to a white picket fence, a wild English garden, window boxes and roses climbing the side of a gray weathered shingle Cape-style home, footsteps from the ocean. The owner’s hired an old friend, Peter Dunham, to create a cottage two men from the city that spent summers on the island could be happy in, without ruining the delightful bones of a vintage Nantucket home. Peter Dunham & Associates started by adding crisp shiplap throughout; exposing original beams to make the ceilings higher; and sourcing the perfect reclaimed red and white oak planks for the floors.
