House Tour-This Waterfront Beach House on Gibson Island is so Beach Pretty
Interior Designer Lauren Liess clients asked her to create a beautiful, relaxing, down-to-earth beach house on Gibson Island. This waterfront beauty is truly surrounded by nature and a place to truly enjoy the early morning sunrise on the water, a place to slow down and truly enjoy a peaceful summer. The color palette those chose for the house interior was pulled right from the land and water surrounding the home.
Lauren Liess also is an author of a couple of best-selling books, Habitat: The Field Guide to Decorating (Abrams 2015) and Down to Earth: Laid-back Interiors for Modern Living (Abrams 2019) and have a new one on the way Feels Like Home, for Fall 2021. She and her husband have an interior design firm and home decor shop, Lauren Liess & Co., in Great Falls, Virginia, a real estate brokerage company and an HGTV show called Best House on the Block. Definitely an over-achiever and she has five children, impressive.
Obviously, I love beautiful homes and even better when they are on the water. An added benefit of exploring beautiful interiors and landscapes is discovering new places in this World that I never knew existed. I had never heard of Gibson Island, but lucky for me I stumbled upon this delightful beach house and discovered Gibson Island and it is enchanting, two by three mile private island located in Ann Arundel County, Maryland. It is situated on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Magothy River and is accessed by a man-made causeway. Home sites account for about one third of the land, the remaining two thirds of land is devoted to open space, natural woods, a bird sanctuary and recreation.
