Beach Pretty House Tours- This Perfect Beach House on Canada's Pender Island
This Perfect Beach House on Canada's Pender Island
This perfect beach house was thoughtfully redesigned by Johnson and McLeod Design Consultants and sits along the coast of Vancouver, on picturesque Pender Island. The designers’ primary goal when renovating this 2,800-square-foot retreat was to maximize the influx of natural light and to highlight the sweeping, gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. The result is a serene, airy interior that celebrates the coastal setting—classic, comfortable, and unmistakably Beach Pretty.
The plank-style floor tiles are Italian porcelain and can be heated to keep you cozy on cool Pacific Northwest summer nights..
The floor-to-ceiling windows are stunning. I can picture myself sinking into those leather recliners, daydreaming—and watching a summer storm roll in would be absolutely breathtaking.
I love the contemporary pendant lights hung at varying heights — such a striking focal point. The kitchen feels very clean and modern, yet the designer adds warm, homey touches that keep the space comfortable rather than stark — just what a beach house should feel like.
This expansive window above the kitchen sink is stunning — the view alone is jaw-dropping. But the teak cabinetry truly steals the show here; absolutely beautiful.
The family room blends contemporary pieces with practical comfort. Stylish yet welcoming, the space prioritizes ample seating—essential for a beach house that hosts guests all season—centered around a light gray sectional and complemented by two beautifully modern living-room chairs.
Even outdoors, the designer keeps the contemporary vibe — dark gray outdoor furniture brightened with pops of orange pillows and throws. It’s perfection. What a lovely deck for lighting the fire pit and watching the moon rise.
Gorgeous!
